Which drier?

the pet store where you can bathe your own dogs (Cran and Dix got tortured this weekend) has the B'air dryers but the bigger version. I only turned it up about 1/2 way to blow them dry. since they were still in the tub area, not sure how wet it would get if you took them out of the tub to dry. I did brush before going so not as much snow fur blowing around as there could have been.
On the fun side, there was someone already there bathing a sheltie- there was also a mix, and then 2 labs after those people left. it was the place to be on a rainy Sunday afternoon.......

I want one of these!! And why in the world does Vogue hate my hairdryer? You'd think that thing has NO power compared to Rachel's. LOL. Granted, I don't have her tied up so she tries to run away. Koji could use one of those to blast his undercoat away right now. Ugh. He's not getting a bath until I get that undercoat out first. Did one shoulder the other night, omg, I think I had a new puppy!

Waiting (im)patiently to find out which dryer you buy and how it works. Like you, never done this before; well, not with that kind of power.

K9 II looks awesome if you want to dry a plane LOL dual engine :woot:

So it looks like Metro is either 1.7 or 4 HP and either variable or 2 speed. Sounded like the 4HP is the better choice.... how important is speed? Seems like it might be nice to slowly dial it up for the more insane (orange) resident of the house.

Also how much overspray do you get when drying? Could I give them a bath and pop them onto a grooming table or would I paint the wall with wet dog? Never used anything but towels.
I use one of those chamois towels to dry them first just sort of press it into them and let them shake so I dont break coat and rub dry the legs then blow dry. A little water goes on table but it really doesnt go all over. Main thing the faster the drier the quieter you have to be wirh it. Wave it around and you tangle the top coat. Steady even drying it separates the coat.

Oh good to know. :) Don't want my pups ending up all tangled!

Little late, but I have a Conair with hot medium and cool with high and low speeds. It was not
expensive, got it at Meijer Grocery store. I like the temps on it. I like the cool temp so we don't
dry the skin out. I use towels first then dryer especially in the winter.

I am hunting a drier for the guys. Last time at the groomer she raised the price and kind of ticked me off. Not sure if we are going back. So that means more brushing at home and BATHS! I don't need a super 80 dog an hour show one but I want something that will hold up and work well even if I have to pay a bit more. Oh and Spitfire curses y'all as he will hate it while Sca will tolerate it for me.
I bought an inexpensive blow dryer stand off Amazon. My guy loves it, and falls asleep while I brush him out with it.

So I have the metro 2 speed, love the 2 speed, I use low for puppies and doing head details, thanks Shelli for the info on the koolcube...I am always intrigued by it at shows and think about it for puppy use as it quiet, but I guess i'll hold off on that. I have had my dryer for 10+ years now and works amazing..Word of advice when its shedding season I only blow the dogs outside, other wise its like being in a snow globe that someone shook...really really hard :D

Omg isnt that the truth. I bathed Birch this weekend, he went from full undercoat to no undercoat in 1 week. I had brushed him out for a hour and collected a trash can full of hair but after the blowdryer sent the rest of it into the air. The bushes, grass and me were covered in hair by the end.:ROFLMAO:

Oh my gosh! That is so true and hilarious! When I blow dry Cleo in the bathroom, hair flies everywhere!!! A snow globe is very accurate!
