White Bones

My mom came home from shows this weekend and brought my dogs bones from the White Bone Dog Company and they are literally white bones? She said that people wait in line to get these bones.

Does anyone know anything about them? Are they good for the dogs? My girls will not put them down, but they look like big weight bearing bones.

I searched a little bit online but couldn't really find much about them.

The only thing I found from breif google-ing is that they're sterilized by baking them, almost like dehydrating. It apparently makes them a lot tougher to chew. I didn't find much about them either... I know that's probably not helpful!

I've had 8 shelties in my life, and they've all had one of these bones. Some loved them, some couldn't have cared less. My current sheltie, Olive, is 5.5 months old and she loves hers. She chews it (teething), she carries it around (it's heavy so she feels like a big girl), and she gets the zoomies with it. She runs with it, then drops it so it slides ahead of her, then she pounces on it, growls, and zooms again. I think she likes the big noise it makes when it falls from her mouth. I first gave it to her when she was about 10 weeks old, and at first she was afraid of it because it rocked back and forth and made a noise :gaah In a week's time, it became her favorite chewy. No dog I've ever had could make a dent in the bone by chewing it, and it does keep them away from the chair legs :biggrin2:
