Won't play anymore

Well, it has been interesting. With my boys home and everyone around Beau actually started to play more :) AND I found out he absolutely loves Monkey-in-the-Middle. It doesn't last long but boy is he happy and excited. I think allowing him out to chase things is very detrimental to his playing abilities. So, I am trying (yes, trying) to not let him out by himself to chase. When I do I bring him in if he starts to look like he is going over threshold. He is very good about "in" these days--not perfect but pretty solid. So he is a work in progress. Toughest dog I have owned but that just means I have to learn a whole lot more :) And having patience with him has helped me with the children I work with. So all in all life is always a learning experience and Beau puts me on my toes.

Oh, he also LOVES big big beach ball type balls.
 
Your getting there Pam...one day you'll look back on it and say do you remember when Beau used to....
Training is all about your communication with the dog and if one thing doesn't work just try something else. The biggest trial for me was getting Piper to retrieve the dumbbell, this was by far the HARDEST thing I tried to teach him and many a time I considered quitting obedience until I found a method that worked (after almost 9 months of working him with different ways). Now he positively loves it and you wouldn't know he never did. Just never stop trying :)
