    Pacing

Neither of mine are pacers inside the house. Mala saw a squirrel outside their outdoor run a few weeks ago and now he has almost worn a path pacing back and forth hoping to catch sight of that fuzzy tail again:rolleyes2: He is persistent.

    Sheep herding

Oh my...I can't imagine the boring part yet. Fourth lesson and I still can't keep the directionality of "come by" and "away to me". Then there is where the sheep go, where I go, where the dog goes...yikes. Wonder if I will ever get it? :hide

Does anyone else's Sheltie do any of this?

Maybe it is that sheltie herding instinct coming out? If Mystique is with either one of our cats alone things are good (once she has given them a complete ear wash that is). Our cats are around 5 and 13 and the relationships are similar with each. When all three are in the room it gets loopy...

    Sheep herding

Welcome! I am also new to herding....so not much experience to talk about :). How old is Dakota? My puppy Mystique is still a bit young to start. We went last weekend to see if she was interested in the sheep and she loved it! Now a couple months of me learning the ropes until she is...

Who's related to whom? Any sheltie cousins out there?

Oh my...discovered this thread and managed to pass most of my Sunday playing with Sheltie lines...so much for housework. I now know more about my dog's history than my own family! Going way back... it looks like Mystique has Wee Laird O'Downfield genes to thank for her persistent "hello ear"...

    First Points

Thanks...we are sure having fun with our gal. I can really see how being a sheltie owner can promote and foster addictions!

    First Points

On her first day as a senior puppy Mystique received her first two points! We two legged parents were very excited and proud of her. I am really enjoying the learning and it is hard to tell which of us had more fun at the show. We also discovered that sheltie people are awesome and so...

    CC shampoo

I have bought online from a couple suppliers in BC. http://just-gifted.com/ http://www.needsndesires.com/canadastore/canindex.php both are in BC and ship in Canada. I have had no problems with shipping from either....arrives within a week. I use Spectrum for our tri and like it very much.

    Shelby

She is a darling...and your cat looks about as thrilled as ours were when we first brought Mystique home. Enjoy the puppy stage...it goes by so very quickly

    Ear tipping

    I am a complete visual learner :smile2:

    Lotsa peeing

When Mystique was having similar issues I got the great advice from Sheltie Nation to take a urine sample in (and the ladle works awesome). She had lots of bacteria and blood in her urine...a quick course of antibiotics and no problems since. Hope your little gal feels better soon.

Need suggestions where to buy a rolled nylon collar

I have been searching for a rolled nylon collar also...gave up and recently bought a rolled leather one for Mystique. It seems to be working well although I prefered the ease of the snap on her old puppy collar to the buckle on this one. Let us know if you find anything on your search....the...

    Ear tipping

I use Tear Mender...just a teeny dab and make sure to glue hair to hair. The tip I learned if you use a glue is to hold it in place for a full 30 seconds. I am still tipping Mystique's ears and probably will do so until she is a year or so (she has a persistent "Hello" ear). Until she was 5...
