I find low light can really affect Merlin too. I do wonder if it is something to do with him being a merle. I did read that merles can be more sensitive to light changes. It also depends on the colours of the equipment, dark equipment in low light really throws him, I think perhaps he finds it harder to judge where things are.

I find my guys get tired even when they are just in the car. Not physically tired, but mentally tired. I imagine they don't sleep as much in the car as at home. Mind you, I am pretty rubbish by the end of the day, so it might be me rather than them!

I kind of wish I could convince the clubs to run novice earlier but around here- it's excellent jww/std, then open jww/std and then novice jww/std. the only thing that might change is whether jww or std is first.....

I know that feeling! Here the Anysize and Elementary classes are always at the very start of the day and at the very end at the independent comps. So it means an early start and usually a late finish, not much fun in the depths of winter! At least now Merlin is Starters at most places we get a slight reprieve

yeah- with dogs in all the levels, I'm there all day no matter what
unless I only enter one dog- I did that in early Jan
