Emma and I had her 2nd Obedience class tonight and she is doing fantastic!! I will say (have to take SOME credit!!) I have been working with her for months now. But she is getting the commands very well!! Only one - two times on each command (and of course keep reinforcing it over time) and so far she is great!! Even the trainer said so! (so it must be true!!! hahaha)
Her socialization with the other dogs etc... is awesome!! Her best bud Trevor is an Alaskan Husky (very handsome and such a gentleman if I must say so!!)
Although, while we were doing the walking on the leash, Emma was blind sided, bum rushed and snapped at by Barack a cocker spaniel. I was proud of Emma, she just thumbed her nose up at him and stepped BEHIND me hahaha. Barack's owner had him on a retractable leash and she did not have control of it and he was able to run as far as he wanted (to get at Emma) until she "noticed" what he was doing. (Keep in mind, the trainer ASKED everyone last week to NOT bring retractable leashes this week).
Now, I LOVE all dogs, but I have learned something about one breed...there are 2 begals (adorable) in the class but you can hardly hear the trainer over their constant barking. I never realized they were so vocal. One sits next to us and Emma just lays there staring at him LOL
