September 2011 I begged my husband to go into a pet store real quick "just to look" and out we came with a $200 discount doggie, four months old, all gangly limbs and overly large ears.

And now she's 3, and absolutely the most beautiful, smart and wonderful puppy I've ever had.

And so we've been celebrating Honey's birthday in style. We woke up (honey has started this awesome super close cuddle thing in the morning from around 5-7) and made a special breakfast of chicken and rice, then we went to the park and had a 2 mile hike, and took some birthday portraits.

Near the end of the hike we were more than happy to see our favorite shady stream, which let Honey cool off so she'd have plenty of energy to chase lots of butterflies in the field.

Later after lunch we went for a walk again, to another park, and swung on some swings, than came home and cooled off with the hose. We had some yogurt and played frisbee, dug some holes, cuddled on the couch and soon we'll go pick up some new birthday toys.

Love her so so soooo much!

Happy Birthday pretty girl. Boy JacqueZ, you sure were lucky that day in 2011. Your Honey is just precious, such an adorable face and I see you having years of fun and companionship with your baby. Extra hugs and kisses from me today.

I know! The fact that she was left there for so long, when the store is pretty aggressive about marking down dogs that are there past the initial 8-10 weeks. The fact that no one grabbed her that day after she was marked down ever further. (They said she had a couple of people who had visited with her and were interested)

If we hadn't photographed a wedding the day before and been to tired to cook, we would never have been at the restaurant next door, I would never have gone in.

Honey and I were fated.

Also she thanks you all for the birthday wishes, and says she wishes everyday could be nonstop play like that!
