Ember out ran me in agility.

My little dog who I can always beat to any spot on the field actually outran me tonight at agility practice. It caught me by surprise and of course she missed the turn because of it. But I was thrilled!

I redid the sequence and ran it like I would with Diva using a proper rear cross and she did it perfectly. *tears in my eyes* I have never been able to do rear crosses with Ember because I couldn't get her far enough in front of me or her focused ahead of me. Though she did do a nice one in trial a couple weeks ago as there was no other way to handle it. I was shocked there too but I planned it so didn't think much about it.

It may seem like a little thing but to me it is huge. :smile2: I just hope it happens more and more. I can see her confidence grow every week especially with Jumpers courses. It has only taken 4 yrs. Now if we could pick up alittle more speed in the weaves and on the contacts(Ember's archnemsis) we would be all set for Ex std.

Yippee Skippy!! I know how that feels. Years ago, when I trialed Daisy in agility, it was more like she ran only enough to "follow" me, while I acted as excited as I could to get her to move out. After getting her Open titles, I said enough...

That is so cool! It sounds like Ember is really enjoying what she's doing and it's suddenly clicked. So happy for you!

so awesome, it really does build confidence, it seems like it happens overnight, and all of a sudden it's like oh gosh, here it finally is!!
SO happy for you guys, It's AWESOME, you go Ms Ember!!

YAY Ember! Keep it up, girl!

I definitely know that feeling and it's awesome. I hope she keeps surprising you (well, Ember, don't surprise her in naughty ways! Just fast agility ways!)

Congrates Ember way to go, If she finds any more be sure to package it and send some my way for Cosmo  I don't think I can wait 4 years for him to find it on his own.

I know it pretty bad when you can outrun your dog, I say this to Cosmo pretty much every time we start a run, ok now who's gonna win this race me or you, are you gonna let me win again so I know the feeling well.

Yay Ember!!! Run Ember Run!!!

I so know the feeling. I was so proud I could easily do FC's with Koji, until I realized it's because he's sooo slow. lol. Then he started picking up speed and I was like, holy moly, I couldn't do a FC to save my life. Everything became RC. And since he wasn't used to it, it threw us off for a bit. Now that we're getting some (I say some to mean 5'-10') distance in, it helps me get in FC's again.

Here's hoping she stays confident and runs faster than you. :)

Congrats on your success! Hopefully in another couple of years Che and I will have something positive to post about our agility as well... I know all about small things making huge impact!
