Abigail is sick

All of us here hope & pray that precious Abby is getting to feel more like herself. How is she doing today?

Keep us posted ok~

Thanks! Still no vomiting, which is good. She hasn't gone poop at all since before the vet visit, which is not the best thing but not too alarming. The vet office called to check up on her and they said not to worry unless she has diarrhea again.

She does really enjoy the rice and chicken, though. And she is perked up and wanting to play. She almost went potty a little while ago, but the lawn service came and scared her. Grrr. We're going to try again when they are done.

I'm glad she is feeling better.

My dogs didn't have a bowel movement for a day or two after taking metrondozle and a shot to slow down their gut.

I am glad things are turning for the better, there is nothing worse when your loved ones furry or otherwise are sick.
I do what your vet suggested- keep it raw and have kibble for handy treats and travel when needed. I am finding as we go along that Che is much more tolerant of what he eats and does not seems to be fazed by any food he manages to get.
It is rare vet that you have!

Abbie still hasn't gone and has been out a few times, but I'm trying not to worry about it.

Thanks. We are so lucky to have such an awesome vet. He offers acupuncture, laproscopic surgery, etc. I was very happy he was on board with the raw feeding. We have such a rapport with him, he might have been able to talk me out of it.

I'm so happy Abby is feeling better. This is great news. I also thing it may be the Flagyl keeping her from doing poo, and the rice is also binding. Gypsy has taken a couple days to go when the combo has been given to her.
Chandler and Gypsy send her Sheltie hugs and smiles for continued improvement.

Those metros always plug up my girls too, takes them a few days to get back to normal movements but they sure do the trick.

Glad to hear all is getting better!

To follow up, Abbie is doing great. No more diarrhea, no more vomiting, and back on normal food. She is playing and active and such a sweetie.

Only... it would have been nice to know that what goes in as rice and chicken comes out orange! It was definitely a surprise.

Thanks to everyone for your posts and positive thoughts.

I glad Abbie is doing better. Dogs always seem to have no stool a day or 2 after having diarrhea meds or no meds. Its a matter of everything that was in there being voided by the colon and the bland diet not producing much waste itself. When Ember got diarrhea last month during our agility trip she didn't have a bowel movement for 4 days following the dirrahea. Of course Raw diet doesn't produce much stool in the first place.
