Agility class day 3

Today was not our best day for sure. Lacey didn't seem to be really as into it. Last week she flew across the dog walk. Today she fell off once and jumped off another time and she was not as into the jumps or anything else. She was really tired when we got home too. Had a really quiet day (for a puppy).


I guess everyone is entitled to an off day here and there. Hope fully next week will be better.

I'm sure she'll get back into it, especially as she was so enthusiastic before. Maybe she just wasn't feeling 100%? We had an off day on the weekend too, where Honey (who had been doing so well) decided to stop mid-course and zoom around like a crazed lunatic instead! I guess sometimes they're just not in the mood for whatever reason.

Last weekend Cubby failed miserably at scent too. He just was not interested.

All dogs have the occasional off day. Merlin has them and he is now 4. You just have to chalk them up to experience and look forward to the next class.

Had you rested her before agility? I tend not to walk my when they have an agility class that day. Also, had she been fed before class? i don' t feed Merlin for several hours before agility.

She will perk up again, just don't worry about it or you will put pressure on yourself and her.

Celtic had a night like that I think it was his 5th beginner class. He was just off can't describe it. I am not sure what the issue was, next week he was back to his crazy self.

Birch would wake from the dead for agility but some nights we are just not on the same page. That's normal.

I think she just had an off day. Our class is pretty early in the morning so maybe she will just get a very small snack and breakfast when we get home next week. We have been going at 9:00, but hopefully will change to 8:00 next week. if so I won't feed her anything until after we get home.
