Agility, year 2!

As the year begins I look back on our dabble at agility classes. Boy is it alot more fun now that we aren't "newest newbies" - the dogs in class are much better behaved, the owners more dog savvy, the instructors... well, they are a little tougher to please... :D

We don't have weaves yet, but he shows improvement and its just a matter or time. The teeter doesn't cause him to flinch at all anymore and he's eager to try every time!

Maybe this year will see our Novice debut in the preferred classes, maybe I'll wait another, who knows! Titling is not our priority, I have plentry to learn to be a good handler for Flyer, who is um.... one wild and crazy puppy!

Sounds like you are doing well. It is nice when you get to that stage when you are not the newbies and are able to tackle longer sequences.

Sparrow started her proper agility classes on Monday. She is the youngest in the class, but doing well. All baby stuff at the moment, like tunnel - jump (with no poles as she is only 10 months).

And you are right, its all about having fun and connecting with your dog:wink2:

Keep at it, even the best of the best are always learning, nothing stays the same in this sport for long, the biggest thing is to remember to keep having fun even when things don't go the way you had hoped for.
