Angus eater of all

Let's hope he feels better in the morning and your Vet is right and his numbers improve and go back to normal.
Maybe he will even feel good enough for a piece of turkey:)

He is not coming with me to my brothers. He really should not be bouncing around or getting stepped on. My brother had a blood disease when we were little and didn't clot either. We were told in no uncertain terms we were to do NOTHING to him (and for us three monsters that was a big ask). Obviously he remembers it as he knew what Angus was going to get for meds and that he should not be rough housing. So only turkey will be imported turkey. Right now his appetite is way off, though the prednisone should drive that the other direction.
 
Holy crap. So glad you didn't wait any longer and got him in. We've known people to have a similar thing happen. Someone lost a cat to this also. Unfortunately the poisoned mice/rats can just go up the food chain and kill more animals than was meant to. We always use traps. I'm glad he's going to be OK. I thought that was pretty weird reaction to just some dry noodles.
 
Oh holy crap on a cracker! I hate coming in late to a thread and frantically reading to see if the dog is ok! That was a closer shave than anyone would have wanted. After Koko ate the whole block of mouse poison he wasn't particularly spry for a few days either. I am so relieved you got to the bottom of it.
 
Wow Sheep I’m so happy to hear you got Angus in to the vet quickly….yikes he really is the eater of all things! Poor Angus, I imagine he’s not feeling too good now.
Tell your neighbour no poison…I’d gotten a recipe from Gloria, it was 4 tbsp baking soda and 4 tablespoons cake mix (actually a corn muffin mix but I couldn’t find that so I substituted) and then placed in a container with a hole in it for easy access for the mouse. They eat it and the baking soda bubbles in their gut but they don’t have the ability to burp so it kills them. You don’t have to worry about another animal eating poison this way, should they get to it.

He is still doing horrible this morning. He won't eat or drink. I had to force his medicines and his gums are horrible. Unfortunately the vet does not get there until noon (they are down one so...)

I am going to head back real soon. I did pour some water in him but he is having a tough time even to get up off the garage floor. I carried him in and put him on his favorite spot on the couch. Not good.
 
:poop: I'm worried for him and you Sheep - he may still be bleeding internally if his gums are bad and he hasn't perked up. I am sending up a prayer right now for Angus to be OK. :fl
 
Oh Sheep, I'm so sorry to hear this. I hope the vet can get him recovering. He may need a stay in the clinic for subQ fluids and meds. We are thinking about you, please keep us posted when you can.
 
Glad you took him in when you did but am very concerned for both of you regarding his current condition. Is there a 24-hour vet nearby?

It might be worthwhile to have a talk with your neighbor; I'm sure they didn't mean for this to happen and might be willing to look at alternatives to poison for any future mice problems.
