Any raw fed puppies here?

I was told that mixing raw and kibble can muddle their digestion because they digest at different rates and it can mean they are not getting a proper balance of nutrition. But I can't say if that's true or not:wink2:

I've heard that too, but when both my vet and the manufacturer suggested a hybrid diet, I suppose it can't be too bad? I was also told to mix every meal equally, instead of feeding one raw meal and a kibble meal. I haven't noticed any ill effects yet, at least. :smile2:

I've recently started following a similar feeding regimen as Mignarda with Dickens. Except I include Honest Kitchen mix in with his raw. He loves it. His fur is growing in like weeds and he's had zero digestive issues getting kibble and raw. And he loves his dinner! No beef here because i dislike cleaning dog diarrhea. The next meat to introduce will be venison. I'm sure he will love it as much as the cooked chunk the cat fed him last week. Not so excited about breakfast of kibble. His training treats are almost exclusively freeze dried fish of some sort which he also loves.

Vader has been eating raw since I brought him home at 10 weeks. So far, he's had beef, lamb, sardines, chicken backs and drumsticks, and lamb tripe. He loves it all and has the shiniest black coat I've ever seen.

Thanks Sparta.

I think with raw there are so many various ways you can feed it. With Cadbury and Sparrow I tend to bulk things out with chopped veg because they would eat until they exploded and weight is an endless battle with them (Labrador and spaniel!).

Now Merlin has point blank refused any form of raw and the only thing he will eat is dry Chappie kibble. He won't even lick the other dogs' bowls after they have finished! So I end up feeding two quite different diets here!

One of the things Natural Instinct sells is a whole sheep head. I know my guys would love to gnaw on that, but I can't stand the fact it still has eyes! Don't like food that can look at me:lol:
