Anyone have a roomba?

I just recently bought a roomba and was afraid that my two shelties would think it was a play thing. Actually Roxie always wants to attack the big vacuum but Buster wants to run and hide. Now that I have a roomba, Roxy is kinda scared of it but is intrigued also. So she likes to lay on the couch and watch it go. Buster on the other hand has decided that its this annoying thing that keeps following him and making him move every time he lays down. Overall they do great with mine. Pretty much ignore it running around.

My two cats on the other hand have no idea what to make of it. One will stand way back and watch it run and then take off running if it gets to close to him and the other one just runs and hides and will not come out till it has went back to its dock.

Same for us. Aftyer the first couople of barks, it was a total snore for the girls. Now when Mom is pushing the "big Nunu," that's another story!

I have a 1st gen Roomba in the hall closet and can't wait to fire it up this weekend, just for a little entertainment ! Snap has gotten over my canister vacuum cleaner (thankfully)...

My Roomba is the 4th gen version. 415 model. Woot had them on sale and I finally couldn't pass it up. I am very impressed with mine. I couldn't believe all the hair it got from the two furbies. Roxie loves the big vac. She feels she has to protect us from that evil loud monster. Its more fun watching buster (6 months old) with the roomba though. He watches it, follows it around sniffing it, then decides that it is of no threat to him so he goes to the opposite corner and lies down. Then when the roomba starts coming close to him he looks at its trajectory and decides if it is going to miss him or not. Its funny he can tell within an inch of if its going to hit him. If it is, he gets up and walks to the opposite side of the room and starts the entire process over again. Meanwhile roxy is sitting nicely on the couch just watching it do its thing. Half the time she just goes into the corner of the couch and goes to sleep. Im sure she is thinking, silly pup, just get up here, it cant touch you way up here hehe.

I'm totally cracking up here!

Actually the roomba is on its 6th gen. Really its only the 4th model update as the second upgrades are the 4th gen series.

As for pets, I have 2 roombas both 415 model and you want to add a little fun, try running them both in the same room at the same time lol. The dogs don't know what to think as it seems 1 is always coming at them all the time hehe.

I think I'll had this to my Xmas wish list...not for me, but for Bacca! I think he'd love it!

With the winter coming, outside walkies will be shorter. He'll need the exercise! (Of course, I'll get even less!)

You might want to consider this first as its MUCH cheaper.

When Sadie needs exercise and the weather is bad, she LOVES to chase a laser pen! She goes nuts for it, she absolutely has to catch that red dot and will stop at nothing till she does. The layout of our house is that our Kitchen, front door hallway, living room and dining room all form an oval track with a wall up the middle. I'll stand in one doorway and make her do laps till she's tired out. :smile2:

A flash light works too, though not as well since it has to be dark
