At the emergency vet - again

It's 1am here and we're at the ER for Tully. She can't walk, her back left leg is injured. I did hear a crack so it may be break or cruciate tear. Her legs are already wasted from the steroids.

Poor girl. First the pond on Monday, then earlier today she found a chicken carcass, so she's already pretty sick.

Just waiting for ER vet who has her out back for an exam.

I lost Deska at this time of year.

A little bit of good news. The cysts the orthopedic vet found are not osteasarcoma. Apparently that's why we were called to back in to see the surgeon. More Xrays but no sign of cancers elsewhere in body that could be seen. But then I didn't even know that was what they were thinking when the two ortho surgeons said it looked 'odd'.

Tully has also started eating again. Now she expects her food freshly cooked, the potatoes have to be scrambled with egg and she doesn't want the NZ Hoki, she wants more expensive Barramundi. It doesn't smell as much but then it means I have to take the skin off. And all this I do first thing in the morning so it can be fresh. Honestly the things I do for my dogs!

Tully is also being more mobile. She can hobble down the hallway to the bedroom and has also been going down the front steps! There's only 2 steps but even I have trouble with them because they are steep. Honestly, this girl is as tough as old boots! Thank god for that as I don't think my back can hold up much longer, although throwing herself down the steps is not a great idea. She can't get up steps, unfortunately.

I let out a big sigh of relief here, Caro. This is good news although I'm sure it seems small in the scheme of thing for you. She really is a tough little lady and I'm hopeful she will be OK. Please give her a gentle pat from me.
