Attack of goat dog

I truly sympathize. Oberon will also eat anything (see previous post re: yeast) we've learned not only to keep things off the floor but also off low tables and tables with tablecloths -- he's learned to pull on a tablecloth to bring whatever's on the table crashing to the floor where it is suddenly his. Google is my new best friend as in "can dogs eat _____"

Last year Finnie got into the garbage and ate a bunch of apple cores (I was dehydrating apple slices) and I was worried about apple seeds and arsenic! Gave him peroxide x 2 to make sure we got ‘‘em all. After I googled it and turns out dogs would have to eat soooo many seeds (like hundreds) and they’d have to be cracked to cause a problem. Needless to say he’d still steal the core if the chance arose lol…he didn’t learn a thing!

Minnie has so much confidence,
but could never dream of taking anything from low tables
even though I'm not there :no:
- if I drop something on the floor she looks up at me
to get acceptance if she can take it.

My German Shepherds did not either.
I wonder - is it because they are / have been "only children"? :hide

Our previous dog, a Samoyed named Mercutio, never took anything without permission. Oberon thinks all the food in the world belongs to him if he can reach it. It's actually pretty smart that he knows to pull on a tablecloth to bring something to him -- not a smartness I endorse, but definitely smart.

And Oberon says he loves Minnie too

We even have to put things in trashcans Luke can't get into. He just a loveable goatdog that has to be protected from himself.dont feel too bad Sheep ofBlue. It's happened to all of us with Shelties. And sometimes it means a trip to the vet. They can't help their nature and we can't help spilling things.it just happens. So glad it turned out okay
