Bad dog :(

Fenced yard if he is in to long I pick his furry tail up and boot him out for a few minutes. At first he will watch the door and then when he realizes it is not opening he says 'oh well I guess I might as well use the facilities' :rolleyes2:

Of course I have never had a dog that can hold it like him. He really prefers to use his yard only. When we went to the Sheltie party I don't think I saw him pee for 2 days. When he finally did at a rest area I swear he was going to wash the hill away :lol:

Wet grass is not an issue though thankfully.

Our dogs refuse to poop in our backyard. I guess because it's so small they see at as their play place...not poop place.
 
Bentley what were you thinking?

My Shelties are mud pigs. They love getting wet and dirty. The muddy the better. If they have to roll in the mud hole to get the right effect all the better.:lol:

Now my resuce JRT mix Jazz was the biggest wuss in the world. She didn't see the inside of a house until she was over a 1yr and once she learned what it was like to be clean, she didn't like getting dirty. She earned her nickname Princess Pillow Paws for sure.:rolleyes2:
 
When Everett was a teen-pup i took him to Northern California with me to buy a motorcycle. He had been riding in the truck all day so I walked him to do his business. Now Everett was raised that "You pee outside in the grass" and at the hotel there was no grass. the pup was confused, as there was no grass! He looked and sniffed and FINALLY found a small bunch of weeds that would suffice. As he readied himself, a train passed by on the tracks a few hundred yards away, and scared him. I gave up and we walked back to the room when finally the bladder won and he pee'ed in the middle of the parking lot.
 
Have you tried using and umbrella with him? I used to have to do that with my first sheltie, she actually came to understand what I meant by umbrella. Maggie could care less if it rains, Zak sometimes will run out to do his business if he really has to go.
 
Mine love the rain...infact they are usually hanging out in it and I have to yell at them to come inside...silly dogs...

But here is my funny Noah story from last week, he loved the purina site, would pee and poo there without issue, id go back to my campground with him and he wouldnt do a thing. He wouldnt pee for over 12 hours:eek2: I could not figure out what his issue was and his aversion to peeing there. Saturday when we left at 3am he hadnt peed since when we left purina at 5pm...I said there is no way he can hold it 24 hours till we get home...so I pulled into a rest stop at 5am take him out on his leash and within 1 min he pees...WTH he will pee at a random place but not the campground?!?!?!! Than it dawned on me the campground had no grass it was all stone he didnt know what to do!!!! Silly dog!!!!!

Yep...it's not the fact that it is raining on him, it's his feet getting wet that he hates. Even if it's not raining outside he hates going out if it has just rained and the ground is wet.

But he'll do agility in the rain, no problem (weird, right?)
 
Ah, Miko wanted to say that Bentley must be his soul-brother. He dislikes walking on anything that's not concrete or carpet. And if it's wet, double ew.

So, Miko wanted to give Bentley some pointers. 1. although I hate the booties, they keep my feet dry and 2. tell your mom to invest in a golf umbrella and when she takes you out, she should hold it over YOU, not HERSELF. My mom does that for me and I like it much better.
 
Lucky can't go fast enough, and Lady doesn't care, she'll lay in the mud and rain. She just doesn't like those loud thunder storms in the middle of the night.

If it doesn't stop raining here we are going to grow mold on our bodies, it has been awful.
 
CJ doesn't care about the rain. She'll stand in it until we make her come in.

Edan, on the other hand (or should that be paw?), is a priss when it comes to the rain. We have to push him outside or go out with him. I've tried the umbrella thing and he still doesn't like it.
