Bad News Overload

We met with the surgeon yesterday morning, and they kept her for the day to do the CT scan. I just got the report this morning. The damage seems to be limited to the area of one tooth, which is good news and what she thought would be the case when we talked yesterday. Surgery is recommended, and I'll set that up today. This surgeon has done many of these and said they're "very curable" and the dog does fine afterward, which is a huge relief.

This morning I'm off to take Ruffles in for her post-op checkup. I've been at a vet's office every day this week since Monday! At least our roads are finally open again!
Good news!!

The CT scan showed that the bone destruction in Flurry's upper jaw is limited to the area the surgeon expected, which she said is good news. Surgery will be next Wednesday to remove a few more teeth and a section of bone where the tumor is. The doc believes she can get it all and Flurry will be fine. Please continue the prayers! :fl

And on top of that, the CT scan also showed some calcifications in the sludge we know she has in her gallbladder, which we were having ultrasounded when my vet discovered the problem in her jaw. So once she heals from this, we may be looking at gallbladder surgery. My poor pup!

Flurry had the surgery on her jaw this morning. She's done and recovering. They usually keep major surgeries overnight but said she was up and awake so quickly that they may let me bring her home later. The surgeon was very happy with how it went, although she had to take part of the bone and another two teeth. She expects a complete recovery. I'm so relieved that it's over. I can't wait to get her home.
