Baker says hello!

Say Cubbers will be 22 pounds. Mel is 32 pounds! I predict Cubbers will turn out bigger than Mel by a longshot! I think Cub will be one of those 40 pounders and 18-20 inches. Just a hunch.

Shay (I just looked on the paperwork) was 14 weeks and 10-1/2 pounds. That puts him at 30 pounds 4 ounces on the chart. He is a trim and perfect 52 pounds and 22 inches tall and has been that since around a year (now 3-1/2).

This is what I have used to try to predict Baker's adult size. I have no idea how accurate it is. Maybe if someone on here with an adult can enter their puppy age/weight - and compare it to their dog's current size?
I used it on Ruutu's measurements just now and it says he'd be 29 lb 4 oz, but he weighs 34lbs and that's skinny with ribs and spine showing (he's all muscle) So I agree with Dr. Shelli, I'd add 5 or so pounds to it.

Great news that the size prediction is off! Thanks guys! Not that I would love a tiny adult Baker any less...I would just rather that he not be quite so petite.

Okay - hubby made the mistake of taking more pics today, so of course I want to share.

First one is the lil' guy with Toby's well-used soccer ball. He wants to spend more time "getting happy" with it than chasing it. Disgusting! lol

2nd shot is showing an example of Toby's patience with Baker. He impresses me with his tolerance.

Last shot is our Toby. (aka: "Toby or Not Toby", "Toby Wan Kanobe", "Tobus Among Us"). I feel bad that we have to devote so much more time & energy to Baker, and Tobes is being so good about it. I guess Brian (hubby) decided he needed a picture that didn't involve the little monster. :) Whenever someone meets Toby for the first time, the reaction is usually "can he see out of that eye?" We usually reply that we have asked him & he won't answer. His merle coat leads me to believe he thought about having a blueish eye. Once you see him in person you appreciate its beauty. He is one awesome dog!

CUTE!

He wants to spend more time "getting happy" with it -- Cubby is doing the same, only to Melli's head!

"can he see out of that eye?" My Quay (blue merle aussie) had a white spot in one eye. He saw just fine. Toby's coloration is really unique. I feel bad I have to spend so much time on the puppy too. I keep telling Shay & Melli I promise he will grow up and I don't have to work so hard on him. They are not convinced.

So nice to have people that understand. There are only few co-workers that have dogs...my best friend is an obedience junky - the rest are just so-so.

We keep telling Baker: No humping the brother!

My Trace had one brown eye, one blue. Our vet kept suggesting that Brian & I each get one colored contact each so we looked like family. :)

Lol, there are times when I appreciate having a female pup and this is one of them!

They are both lovely dogs :hugs What is Toby crossed with? Beagle?

When we adopted him the shelter called him a Catahoula Leopard Dog mix. I think they were just trying to make him sound more exotic (adoptable). After looking at lots of photos we decided more on the Aus. Cattle Dog (Heeler) mix, and yes, I think there's some Beagle in there. He's a very good boy. :smile2:

But Mom....it just feel so good....LOL

Happy 13 week birthday Baker! I wanted to start taking the weekly pic with a constant, so his growth will be documented in pictures, and thought the pellet stove would be a nice background. Then I realized that there will be a lot of Saturdays where we will be at the camper. Pretty sure that I can always find a bottle of rum - both at home & at the camper!

He loves the new toy. The raccoon slips over a standard water bottle, so it's crunchy noises. We were getting tired of all the squeak ones, and a plain water bottle is a bit too loud.
