Barking (yes, I know...)

Positive always works better, but as I learned in the classroom, you got to get the kid's attention first so they can listen to you.

That's the thing though isn't it, getting their attention. I had wondered if I should get the 'barkhouse' out for the dog next door's barking to see if it got his attention to stop barking. I know when I tell my dogs 'good girl' he quietens up.
With the vibrating one, Deska would start cowering as soon as I got it out, so it didn't really work properly - he didn't get a chance to bark.

I am not a fan of the shocking kinds of collars personally. Wouldn't want that on my neck!
This particular device has two settings and the "training" setting seems to exactly get their attention. No one is running and cowering, or I wouldn't use it! It's more of a "what the heck was that??" kind of reaction LOL
