Barkley's Mystery Illness

Not sure you are aware, if you are, please forgive the extra post on it.... Pancreatitis can take a LONG time to show up in normal bloodwork - again, my experience is with my cat so dogs may be different. Sam (my Siamese) has normal CBC type blood-work still to this day looks good but I paid a ridiculous amount to have one single test done that looks for a specific enzyme if pancreatitis is suspect. With Sam, this test shows as 'Spec fPL' and his results were way out of range - 3.5 ug/l is considered normal and his results came in at >50. Not sure if there is something similar with a dog, just thought I would put it out there if Barkley happens to have a re-occurrence.

Thanks, Sandy. I was not aware of that. I know my vet said the bloodwork showed negative for the pancreatitis enzyme but I don't know how specific it was. I'm going to make note of the test you mentioned and keep it for future reference if things go south again. That's good information to have.
