Bela got excited, barking and wagging!

way to go Bela!!! She looks so happy! It's amazing how happy our shelties can be and express themselves!! I love it when all mine start they're antics!!!!

They are both very cute.

And I probably am guilty of over-managing my two, but they are not allowed to take bones for each other if they are actively chewing. Each dog gets one, and they can't steal from each other unless they both get up and leave the bone.
 
If one is chewing on a bone, but abandons it, it become common property! That's what happened in this case. No active "stealing" occurred - if you want to get technical, the theft was purely passive! LOL

But no, I don't let them actively take each others' chewies while being actively chewed on. That's the only exception to my policy of not interfering in my dogs' interpersonal relations with other household members of the canine persuasion unless someone is potentially bleeding.

This was taken less than a month into their relationship, and both were used to being "only" dogs, so there were some surprised looks when something wasn't where they left it, and great disappointment when mom wouldn't let the original owner repossess the forgotten goody.

I was so excited when she started barking that I called my dad and made him listen. Then later, had to call the hubs and make him listen, too.

I was able to see these videos! Bela's video made me cry. I am so sad to think of all those years that Bela spent in a cage, living her life to feed greed. However, I am so touched by her obvious happiness and joy in life now. I had tears pouring down my face!

The second video made me laugh (sorry, Gracie). Gracie's face is priceless.

Wish I had had my camera handy this morning.....

Bela wanted to play with me, and (poor thing) had no clue how to do it. She did some air-biting at me, prancing around, barking, and lunging. She was just enjoying being a dog!

So glad to hear that the precious girl is trying her hand at playing. She will figure it out. Shelties are smart. (I love that "twinkle in the eye" shelties get when they are having a "good time".) She will get there. She is already on her way!!!
