Thanks for understanding, everyone! When I told my parents, they were completely underwhelmed.
She didn't do anything more astonishing for the rest of the day, except enthusiastically chew her pig ear. (I felt like celebrating - don't normally feed my girls those, but she picked it out herself.) It took her most of the afternoon, as Gracie kept attempting to steal it, after having eaten her own. (and you *know* how much better something is when somebody else wants it.) But the morning was enough for me!
It may be just my imagination, but Bela seems to have more pep in her step!
