Best Tricks

LMAO, we just returned from chiro, / Che is limping again and I am thinking of starting doxy on him since I've run out of ideas/ but that is not what was funny. Chiro was doing Che's laser on hind legs, sitting on her knees behind him when Che started to climb up vet's body with his rear paws. See I've been teaching him to do handstand with back legs to the wall so he figured out he could do some tricks to earn food. Initially he just kept raising his hind leg up but then he moved up with his whole behind.... right into chiro face:yes: I was laughing so hard, but I do not think my chiro was that happy:no:

.I want to teach mine how to circle me backwards but no clue how.I have seen videos on you tube and it looks easy but it is not.

It's not nearly as hard as it looks - all you have to do is arrange furniture in a square (I used two couches and two chairs - made a square about 3' x 3'). It's easiest if your dog can already back up in a heel position. To start, all you have to do is get him to back up as you turn in a backwards circle (start rewarding every step, then at the 1/4 turn, then 1/2 turn, and then a full turn). I do this in both directions until the dog is comfortable with it. Once the dog is comfortable, I stay still and give my dog the "back up signal". Because of the way the furniture is placed, and because s/he's been practicing backing up in a circle with me, the dog will quickly understand the concept of circling you backwards independently. Hope this helps! I definitely have to get some tricks on video - I loved Lexi's trick!

This is Justice's best trick. I have posted it before but it is always good for a laugh.

Ember sneezes on command. None of the others do anything I would consider great tricks

Oh goodness!! I love Justice soooo much! I've been wanting to teach Riley to play dead. He has the roll over and I can stop him midway rolling over so he's on his back, but I can't get him to stay there too long, or drop on his side.

I'll have to get my husband to record Riley's trick when he gets home tonight.

Justice did that on his own. Actually the only part I taught him was fall down and lay on your side. He added the spin, the bark and the roll over on his back I just captured it. The day I made that video, I made a second take which was perfect. But the first one was too cute with him laying on his side, looking at me, his tail slowly thudding on the ground, waiting to see if that was good enough.

Oh that is just too funny  He really is an awesome boy....and he thinks up his own variations of the tricks too!!

Those are all great tricks! Shelli, that might be my favorite video ever. It is too cute. The tail thudding, Justice looking at you out of the corner of his eye...just awesome.

And Dani, I love the variety of tricks! Just curious, how did you teach the sneeze? I wouldn't even know how to do that!

And as far as Riley's, that's awesome! I taught Lexi to jump in my arms but it's not nearly as good. She normally gets about halfway and I have to grab her
