Bladder Issues for Ceilidh

Will, I am so deeply sorry. We lost our sable boy, Rory, to TCC when he was 8 years old. It is a devastating cancer.

The only positive is that there doesn't seem to be pain involved. Our Rory never showed signs of pain even toward the end. We were told 3-6 months and Rory had 5 truly wonderful months before he could no longer pass urine and we had to let him go.

My prayers for all of you and the hope that in the time you have left you can make a lifetime of special memories to hold onto.

Trini

I'm so sorry to read that you got such horrible news. Prayers that your sweetheart will not have a lot of pain and be able to enjoy some additional time with you.

Will,
My heart goes out to you, your family and Ceilidh. I just lost my beloved Asta unexpectedly in September, and I know how hard this is, especially with such a young dog. It's absolutely not fair.

Blessings to you for shouldering the loving responsibility for her care. She is in good hands, and I am truly convinced she will be waiting for you to rejoin her when her time comes to leave for the Bridge.

Enjoy all the good moments you have still to come; they will be your treasure later. :hugs

With much sympathy,
Sharon

Will I'm really sorry to read your last post, I know it will be a difficult time, but hope you and Ceilidh will get a lot of good memories, that one day you all will look back on.

Let us hope that it will go for Ceilidh as Trini wrote:

Thank You All

My family joins me in thanking you all for your very kind comments, well wishes & prayers. On a positive note, Ceilidh is recovering well from the surgery and for the most part, seems to be her regular loving sweet self. If not for this insidious thing growing inside her, ---- well, what can I say. Again, our thanks to all. Will

Update on Ceilidh

The lab report is in and it is transitional cell carcinoma. She is on a med which has been successful on shrinking these tumors for a period of time and we are looking into what else might be done. However, the tumor is very close to the ureters and when the tumor grows they will be closed off and she will not be able to pass urine, with the resultant kidney problems. That is the point where we will need to send her on to the bridge. In the meantime she is healing well from the surgery and is on her way back to being her sweet little self. Her mom is spending a lot of great snuggle time with her and we are doing all we can to make her remaining time the best it can be. Please continue your prayers - we are very grateful for them all. Regards, Will
