UPDATE: I had Precious`s 4th obedience class today! On the way back we got to head over to pet store and check out the Easy Walk Harness and Martingale collars everyone advised for their shelties. I asked about both and both were on sale for 10 and 20 bucks so I ended up coming home with both to try out for 60 days before receipt return policy went void and see how it works for us!
Easy Walk harness seemed to work great at the store and she couldn`t get a step ahead of me and ended up coming in towards me from the left side (this should work great when I work on her heels)! And I decided to get the martingale because the harness is only really great for walking and helping her with heel properly as it`s been a great challenge for us with all her lunging and flight instinct with the cars around here! The trainer said the martingaler (because collars have more control on the neck and head) should work better for regular training so I`m very excited to use both and see how things go!

Our boy Rookie has been said to have a small trachea. Because of that, we bought a Buddy Belt for him because it doesn't put any stress on his throat. We love it for him, and it's very "fashionable" if one can see underneath all that hair..lol
When we bought Rookie's, he was still a pup and we got one that fit on the shortest hole, but gave room to grow with all the other holes. He grew into it nicely...still with room to grow had that been the case.
I suggest getting one that fits now...but has plenty of holes left.

I am so glad that you found both of the items, and on sale!
Make sure that when you use the martingale, that it is fitted properly. When it is on the dog, you should only be able to put two fingers between the collar and the dogs neck when the collar is loose.. Any looser, and they will be able to slip out.

Thank you for the advice and concern! The trainer at the store set up both the harness and collar to fit perfectly to her and she can't slip out of both as they're both pretty tight and firm. I had them double checked before going home and asked lots of questions and demonstrations on how to put them on (confusing at first, especially the easy walk harness, knowing which way was front and what not) hahaha but I learned everything and came home good
I have to say, it was definitely a very good buy Thank you!

Great! You are so smart for doing that. There are many people who buy martingales and do not get them fitted properly by someone who knows what they are doing. Then they claim that they don't work and their dogs can slip out

I'm a big fan of martingales instead of harness type collars.
I think they do a better job of instructing the pup to walk with you, rather than pull, and avoid the risk of slipping their collar at the same time.
And yes, measurement is important.
Both my guys have martingales, and both are surprisingly now too loose, even though they were originally fitted up almost 2 years ago when they were still growing.
If anything, their necks have gotten smaller; so be sure to check the fit of your martingale often.
I love these collars of mine; but I fear that I have to find a way to get them refitted.
