Guess Chelsea is not the Long Ranger!
when I get her food ready to put down in front of her, I tell her sit, she does nicely, I say, "Be a lady" and she will sit perfectly poised while I put her food down, straighten up, etc, etc. She waits until I say Bon Appétit, then she digs in. Ok, this routine has been a twice daily event for months. Recently, at times when I tell her sit, she just looks at me with an expression that means one of two things....."Done that, been there, bored with it" OR... I have no idea what you are talking about???
I have been just telling her over and over until she finally sits, but was wondering why she would just decide at times..."Naw"...![]()
Callie like to show her independence at mealtimes- she knows she has to sit before she gets the food. what she usually actually does is, start barking, then do the sheltie spin and then sit. Both dogs have to wait until I tell them they can have it. She does really well now- before she'd try to eat it as soon as I put the bowl on the floor. Also, if she is young and growing up, she may be testing her boundaries to see what she can get away with.

remark..... I thought it was SO cute, a Chelsea thing. I didn't realize until later.....helllllllllo, it is a Sheltie thing! I thought she was just being cute....I didn't know she was herding me!
