Chiropractor - Ongoing Chloe saga

So...Chloe had her second adjustment this morning.

The Vet was thrilled with how well she held her adjustments from three weeks ago. Her rear leg extension is great, and she just needed a small adjustment in her pelvic area, which was the most out of place last session. So hind end is overall GREAT.

She is still slightly favoring her right front leg, and she has some heat in her paw/wrist area. At the same time she has some neck stiffness, which the vet said was probably because of the way she is compensating for her front leg. The vet/chiropractor is thinking there may be an injury on top of the Lymes that is causing her limping.

So....she suggested I get her right front leg x-rayed to see what is going on there. She is thinking that there maybe a slight ligament tear or a bone chipped in her foot/wrist area. She has problems extending her leg. I called my vet, and she is scheduled for an x-ray next Friday morning.

I have to get this figured out!!!

Glad to hear that Chloe's adjustments went well.

But I sorry to hear she is still limping on her frontleg. Hopefully, nothing serious is found. Pike had a period of on again off again lameness. He had anaplasmosis so we thought it was from that. Turns out after xrays, he broke a toe. Not bad but it was cracked and would heal and then crack thus the on off limping. 1 month of rest and he was good.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I know how you feel Danielle. It is so frustrating to see your baby in pain, but have no idea what is wrong. I hope you finally get a resolution to Chloe's limp and that it is nothing serious.

Wishing Chloe the best on her x-ray next week. I am so sorry that she is still limping. I pray that it will be a quick fix.

Thanks....I will feel much better just knowing something.

The chiropractor said that the doxycycline has some anti-inflammatory properties....so that could be why she limps less when she is on it.

Danielle I swear I'm getting senile, I just read the beginning post and started answering your beginning question all over again.
As to you recent visit I'm glad she seems to be doing better but I'm sorry to hear it could be an injury. Am I correct in reading you have to wait another week to do the xrays? Is it that they had no openings yet? I'm just curious because my vet usually does xrays as needed during a visit. I know this was the Chiro but I was just curious. I worry so much about my 2 the week would seem like forever to me and I know you're the same way.
I didn't know Doxy had some anti inflammatory property's as well.

I chose to wait a week. Yes...my vet does x-rays for emergencies, but this is not an emergency. She has been limping since May. I am keeping her activity limited, as if she has an injury and waiting to see if she is still limping 10 days after off the antibiotics. Apparently, if it is an injury, it is not a very bad one, so the prescription will just be rest anyway.

Hopefully Clhoe turns out to be a success story. This little girl is fortunate she has you for a mom. Prayers and positive thoughts.

Danielle, I'm just catching up on posts and wanted to send my good thoughts for the best possible x-ray results when you go in. I know you'll get to the bottom of this and get Chloe back to 100% :)
