Cleo's agility class

Great update on her classes. I'm really glad she's doing well, especially with the teeter. The best thing about the teeter is to take it slowly and allow them to build their confidence. If you push to fast, for example adding too big a drop before they are ready, you can quickly undo everything. (Voice of experience talking here.)

What I've also seen is one week they'll be fine with a bigger drop but the following week it scares them... two steps forward, one step back as it were. I'm NOT saying this will happen with Cleo. I just don't want you to be surprised if you encounter it.

This is why I use the manners minder. The treat doesn't come out until I press the button!

I LOVE my Train and Treat (the new name for the Manners Minder). I'm so glad I made the investment in it. I'm also going to use it for distance training so I can reward right away. I really wish I made the investment when I first looked at them nearly 9 years ago when I was training Edan.

I actually caught a sale on it on Amazon around the holidays and it was really worth the investment. If you can afford to, put some money away each week and save up to buy one. Clean Run is actually $10 cheaper than Amazon currently but the average price is around $109.

I caved talking to Jess! LOL I found an older model for a cheaper price online. With shipping and tax I paid $91.50. Not bad I figure. I looked up the information about it and figured it was worth the investment to get it now.

I got mine for a pretty decent price. I paid $101.78 including tax, free shipping with amazon prime. I don't remember if it was on sale, but I do know it was cheaper than Clean Run's price where I probably would have had to pay for shipping. I bought mine in July 2014.
 
Here is a video of me working more with Cleo on the weaves. This was after class when I got home. The trainer said she was doing really well for just completing her beginners class. In two weeks she starts advanced beginners class. This video was the homework I have been given. I was told not to have her do a sit/stay and then run her right through the weaves. Told me to add obstacles on both sides to have her move right in and right out of the weaves so she would not be stopping or looking back at me for anything. Also asked me to work offside with her as well. So hopefully we can impress everyone when we go back in two weeks. :)

By the way, my 5 year old was the one recording this. I can't find a good person to record anything. :rolleyes2:

pretty good video skills for 5:yes:
practice videos only get a section of what we're working on- set the tablet up to hopefully get the right section and lots of nothing gets recorded too:winkgrin:

you'll definitely impress everyone - just a little more practice and you'll both be awesome.........
 
Looks very nice! I also have to rely on my daughter's filming skills a lot of the time! (But bought a tripod for training - multiple repetitions can get a bit, well repetitive :wink2:) I think your trainer is going to be very impressed at the work you're putting in and the results you're getting. :yes:
