So sorry that Cody and you are continuing to go through this difficult time Angie.
Don't beat yourself up, you have done EVERYTHING and are a terrific Mommy to Cody.
Towards the end of Seamus' life I took him off of his amoxicillin trying to jump start his immune system on his own. The vet concured and we took a wait and see approach. As soon as there were signs that his immune system was failing him he was rushed back to the vet and given an antibiotic shot, but we had to try to see if he could maintain.
You have done the same with Cody, giving him a chance to be all he can be. It is not failing, it is doing the right thing to see if he can work this thing out without surgery, he deserved the chance and so did you.
Now you can know that you have done it all, and the outcome while not ideal gives you a better understanding of what he needs from you, Angie.
Most importantly, you have not failed him in any way, size, shape or form.
