Cold?

We just got a 5 months old Sheltie the day before and when it sneezes, there is phlegm coming out of his nose. Does this mean he's having cold? Should I take him to the vet or is it just a minor cold?
 
Sounds like Kennel Cough (which is really a bit of a generic term for canine colds that inflame the throat). But yes in a young pup I would be straight at the vets for a check over. Did he come from a breeder? If so were any other pups there that seemed poorly?
 
All new puppies need to go to the vet for a checkup anyways. Better ask about the Kennel Cough. Keep us updated, praying all is well.
 
thank you all... will bring him the to vet soon... I got him from the pet shop but other puppies there seems fine...
 
Even more reason to get him to a vet soon - you have no idea what condition he and his litter mates were kept in before getting shipped off to the pet store..
