Collar Warning!

My dogs don't wear collars now, unless we're leaving the house. This is one of the reasons. I've had dogs get caught in the bars of a crate or an xpen, and it's very scary. This is an excellent article about what can happen with the wrong collar and alternatives.

Wow...what a picture that paints...scary! I also never have collars on my dogs when at home, I belong to a dog group on Facebook and I've read stories like this. It happens way more often than you'd think!

That's the reason we don't put them on the show dogs. Collars do break the ruff if they wear them all the time. They all get microchipped as puppies in case heaven forbid, they ever get lost.

I never ever leave collars on my dogs unless they are with me going on walks or to the vet!

An old friend of my brothers left her dog out in the backyard when she left for work. She came home to her dog hanging dead on the fence as he tried to jump and his collar got tangled! Can’t thing of a more horrible experience!
