Chris, this is completely off topic, but that's a nice lineup of shelties in your userpicture!![]()
Smudge does the fear-aggression bluff thing also. It annoys the triggerfish out of me when people say, "But I thought you took him to an obedience class?"
He won't run up to you to say hello.
But I thought you took him to an obedience class.
I made the decision this past weekend that Beckon needs to attend a group obedience class. Oh, he walks well, sits, lies down and shakes on command. But he is so timid with new people, and he's afraid of strange dogs. He does the whole fear-aggression bluff thing, which isn't very attractive. I sure hope this helps. Of course, we love him no matter what, but I think Beckon would be happier if he had more confidence.
But Barb...that requires exercise..for me!![]()

I don't think it matters what kind of training you take him to...any opportunity to socialize will be good. It does make me wonder, though, whether agility might improve his confidence more than obedience?
