Colonel Underpants: The New Chapter

Yes... how is our boy doing today?
He has such a happy smile :) Gavin has a sweet look, not a happy one so much.

Beckon is doing so well. He can climb down the deck stairs and up again if it's earlier in the day. In the evening, he's tired. He still get agitated at night. We're keeping him on Gabapentin at bedtime, plus a Benedryl. Otherwise he frantically paces. His scrotum is healing beautifully (poor guy). COunting down the days until 10 February when his stitches come out!!!

Gavin has gone through stages where he paced a bit at night.
And then there are the times he has been up and down on my bed ALL night long like every 30 minutes (which is I guess a new version of pacing).
I think medication can have a part of it, as well as lack of exercise (which you can't do anything about yet).
I give Gavin his gabapentin in the morning, although I didn't see pacing at night when he got it at dinner either. I know gabapentin has a super short half like (less than 4 hours I think), so in theory it really isn't something that should affect things for very long and can be taken 3X a day.

The benedryl is a good trick to keep him sleepy..wish I had thought of that when I had a month or so of terrible sleep when Gavin was restless!

Glad to see Beckon is doing well, what an amazing dog! I hope he starts sleeping well soon, keep us updated how he's doing. Little Monty says he will keep making little tributes to his new hero out all our toys/dolls :wink2:
