This is so true!
Bacca, my sable has these soft eyes that make him look like Eeyore. INdy, my tir-boy, always looks like the devil.

My first Sheltie was a sable so when I lost him, I wanted one who was different and definitely wanted a blue merle. When I lost him, I wanted something different so I wasn't always comparing him to the new puppy - ended up with a sable girl. Colour matters to me but not as much as personality. Noah, the blue, had the most beautiful eyes that you could read clearly - one totally brown, the other blue/brown.
If I were to have to get another one, I would look at all colours, but choose based on the personality and breeding.

Nike too! He reminds me of Eeyore so much when he gives me the floppy-eared wistful look.
I love all Sheltie colors, but I can tell you I would love a sable merle or blue merle. I find merle coloring to be so beautiful!

I said I would never own a sable but that went out the window. I love, love, my little sable boy Sting.I always said also my next one would be a bi-blue.But if there is ever a next one he or she will be a bi-black.I am in love with this bi-black boy a friend of mine got from Asharon Sheltie's(Shadow is from Asharon). He is mostly black with little white.She named him Hawk.

Tri's are my FAVE!!!! I love the black, golden, & white. It think it just makes a beautiful combo.
I never thought I would own a sable. I don't like having what everyone else has. I like to be different. But lookie, lookie there is a little sable coming to live with us, and I couldn't be more thrilled! Why? I think it's because I've fallen DEEP in-love with the breed! There is not a color I do not like! All shelties are plain out beautiful.
