Thanks guys for all the helpful advice so far. Just visited some pups this past weekend and deciding between some of the shelties in the litter.
I met a beautiful bi-blue girl, but it struck me odd that she didn't have the usual grey or merle spotting that you would find in regular bi-blues. She looked more like a color-headed white with heavy black spots. Does anyone here know if bi-blue shelties develop the grey pigmentation over time? In other words do start of white and black and then gradually develop the grey in their coat?
The other dog I met was heterochromatic sable merle boy. Loved his coat and his temperment, but the eyes have me somewhat concerned. Right now one is a dark blue and the other is a dark brown. Hardly noticeable when they're only 7 weeks old but does the coloring in the eyes change over time? I'm curious to see if one will turn bright blue as it ages and the other eye remains dark over time. Would be off putting to have such a drastic balance when the pups are older.
