My father in law just gave us some whiskey. The brand is Evan Williams. I like the name Evan. I guess is is actually a bourbon whiskey. Bourbon?

I like Pilsner for some reason. It sounds a little comical and don't they have the greatest senses of humor?
 
Sorry about Rum, that is a bummer. Congrats on Scotch, right color of drink for a sable pup. I love the name, that is one I can't drink, my stomach won't tolerate the stuff. Crown Royal Scotch.
 
Well so glad you posted an update.Sorry to hear about Rum.gosh sending a hug to you,as you certainly have had some trying times.

Sounds as though the new pup is already a good fit,cannot wait to see pictures!
 
I must say my favourite Scots alcohol is Drambuie - top shelf stuff, but damn fine.

Congrats on another sheltie. You've certainly been through a few herding breeds lately, but lets face it - shelties are just every package rolled into one!
 
I'm so sorry to hear about little Rum. But it is certainly understandable that you didn't want to go through again what you went through with Moonshine. I like the name Guiness too! But Scotch is cute; and Whiskey and Scotch together is really cute!

My dogs have human names. I didn't intend for it to be that way, necessarily, just happend. I like that ya'll have themes for your pets names. I never really thought of that. So my boring named Meggie and Cooper say welcome to little Scotch and we can't wait to see pics!

BTW, my Meggie is a tri-factored sable. What is a bi-factored sable?? I keep learning Sheltie all the time!
 
I am certainly not an expert on coat colorings, but the way my breeder explained it was that the litter as bi-factored because they are harboring the dominant sable gene and the recessive bi-black.

I think its coming down to Guinness or Scotch for a name. I do think Scotch and Whiskey goes together very well though.

The deciding factor will probably be with how the pup's personality shows itself once he's home.

I'll have to buy a new battery for the camera...I keep forgetting to do so, so I've ended up with a slew of camera-phone pictures which I am sure Whisk would protest that they do not show his good-side.

Justice is a bi factored sable. His mom is a sable and his dad is a bi black. So he carries a bi gene. If he was bred to a bi black or blue, he could not produce tris. A tri factored sable bred to a bi can produce tris. A tri factored sable carries a tri gene not a bi gene.

Some sable shelties you don't know if they are bi or tri factored until bred if their parents carry both bi and tri genes ie a bi factored Tri bred to a sable. The bi gene is always hidden unless there are 2 of them.

Some say the bi factored dogs will be darker sable than the tri factored sable which is in turn darked than the pure for sable. But that is not always the case. :smile2:
