Cranberry in AL

Zak has gotten on the couch 3 times and has not tried the bed yet. He only jumps up and down to get to Maggie. It is such fun to watch them develope.

Cranberry really wants to get on the couch- the big dogs escape him up there. He barks and barks - they either ignore him or chase him off :wink2: sometimes, he wants up to be with me- but mostly it's to get to the big dogs  He'll be getting up by himself sooner than I want him too :eek2:

You could always read the how to keep a Sheltie off furniture thread

I have read that thread as it was happening- there were great amounts of laughter involved. My first dog (that was all mine- mix, Danny) was not allowed on the furniture. I had decided that before I got him. People were the hardest to train- want to hold the puppy- sit on the floor or stand- no sitting on the furniture. He did pretty well for 12 yrs. Then I got Happy- had a little separation anxiety, door-darter, all kinds of issues when I would leave. so he started jumping on the couch and I was like- if that makes you happy- go right ahead. then Callie came along- she couldn't jump on the couch at first- I just picked her up and put her on the couch with me. so no question that Mr. Cranberry will eventually be up there- by himself. He already gets help to get up on the furniture  I do like snuggly shelties and they can't snuggle if they're not right there with you

hopefully, there will be some new pix tonight or tomorrow. We start another puppy class this evening with one of the trainers from our dog club. should be fun but might not get any time to upload pix- just have to see how Cranpup does after class- if he passes out- it might get done :sleepy::winkgrin:

well, no pix uploaded yet. You'd think an hour of puppy class would let the lil man slow down and let me have some computer time. guess the nap on the way home was plenty to recharge. anyway, last night's class was pretty good. 2 great danes- one only a little older than Cranberry but already much bigger, a GSD, a dobie, a weimie, a beagle, a minpin, a boxer and some mixes. Cranberry was so the welcoming committee- the class is held where my dog club practices so we were a little earlier than everyone else. he had to say hi to everyone- funny how some of the bigger pup-dogs were scared- not him. wanted to play with everyone and their dogs. one of the really good things for us, a whole family- Mom and Dad and the 3 kids with their pup. so Cranpup got some kid time too. he hasn't seen too many kids yet- except in passing at the pet stores. anyway, things are going well- have to practice a little more but he's so smart and catches on so quick- we really need to keep up with doing everything more consistently. :wink2:
