Destin's first run

yeah- so he's not really ready but local trial- thought we'd see how things might go.

so on Sat, I entered Dixie and Jocu- just little tiny things kept them from getting Qs. Jo's weaves were not bad at all but we had some kind of tunnel issue- as in not taking them instead of taking them multiple times:winkgrin:

for today, I had only entered Destin in nov jww. and I've been debating for a week if I would really run him or not....
so I got talked into it and he really did a pretty good job. we missed a jump and we haven't gotten as much weave practice as I'd hoped when I sent in the entries so we did have a little issue there- I didn't want to lose him so we just kept going all the way to the end.

now if the rain would just stop, we might be able to get some more practice in before the next trial:fl

The way you were saying it I was expecting worse...Destin looks AWESOME! Totally focused on those jumps, just a few baby bobbles. So exciting!
 
Destin looks so miserable... :wink2:

He's clearly having a blast! Like Ashley said, a few bobbles, but it's his first time out and he sure loves it.
 
well, it went way, waaay, better than I expected....
he has been brilliant in some of his classes and others..... well, that's when I started taking Jocu to class so when Destin went visiting/zoomieing, he'd get put in the crate and Jocu would get to do the exercise. that did bring about more focus but I still wasn't sure if he'd be able to focus at a trial:pop
I was really impressed that he did so well:yes:

yeah- let's run right past them:winkgrin:
he can weave and I thought we could get through them in the three allowed attempts but in the moment, I decided not even to try again and keep him happy and running with me and not barking at me.......
Jocu did have more practice time before his first jww class so hopefully by Destin's next AKC trial, he'll be more confident weaving:fl

I liked the bounce action. He was having a blast.
 
Destin is looking really good for his first time out, he was happy and that is what counts. I would have done exactly the same with the weaves. Better to keep him going then to push for them.
