The majority of Wellness natural products for pets are produced in WellPet's own modern state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Mishawaka, Indiana. WellPet no longer purchases any products from Diamond Pet Foods.

I was'nt surprised to read about this recall early today. And to reafirm, that our bag of Bison was affected.

They will be getting another phone call, and I will press the issue of our vet bills.

No more TOTW for us. They have all been doing great on our new food,we decided to go with BB.

Dear Pet Parents,

We want to let you know that we have announced a voluntary recall of one recipe of Wellness dry dog food. This voluntary recall is being done out of an abundance of caution as these products were produced at the Diamond Pet Foods facility that has been linked to recent recalls of Diamond brand foods due to the threat of Salmonella.

We test every batch of Wellness product produced before releasing it for sale. These lots were all tested and verified to be free of salmonella before they shipped to customers. While we stand by our testing and have no reason to believe there is a problem, we are voluntarily recalling this recipe with these best by dates out of an abundance of caution and to put our consumers’ minds at ease.

The lots involved in this voluntary recall are:

Wellness Complete Health® Super5Mix® Large Breed Puppy, 15 and 30 lb. bags and 5 oz. samples with best by dates of JAN 9 2013 through JAN 11 2013

No other recipes, sizes or WellPet brands of food are impacted by this voluntary recall.

Pet owners who are unsure if the product they purchased is included in the recall, would like replacement product or have additional questions, may call us at (877) 227-9587 (Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM through 6:00 PM Eastern time and Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 AM through 5:00 PM Eastern time).

Sincerely,

Wellness Natural Food for Pets

I feed Wellness Super5 Mix Lamb... Hmmm hmm.

I feed Wellness Core, and am feeding Wellness Super 5 puppy food to my puppies. (Yes, the puppy food hits close to home, but apparently on the the large breed puppy food is made at the same plant that makes diamond? Grrrr... commercial kibble can get on the nerves some times.) I love the food that my dogs are eating... have tried every brand under the sun out there... except for Orijen... the closest retailer for Orijen is 2 hours away. They've been on Wellness Core for over a year and my shelties do great on it... have seen healthier coats... improved muscle tone, and bigger appetites. I have finally found a food that comes up to my expectations.... I pray that the recall doesn't extend to other Wellness products.. I am going to email the company and ask some questions. I was in Petco today and noticed the recall food... Natural Balance and Wellness Large Breed Puppy was off the shelf.
On a side note mbfrench... Blue buffalo does seem to be a decent food, but I've had dogs that wouldn't eat the black pieces of kibble.

When Brian first opened the bag,he was surprised by those little black nuggets to.But these guys actually seek them out and gobble them right up.
So they are liking the food.
I can sympathize with you on the food issue.

I thought BB was manufactered by Diamond, too? The problem with this recall is the manufacturer of this pet food didnt catch this with their quality control tests and refused to losten to their customers and it wasnt until the FDA stepped in and tested the food, then they recalled. They also refused to recall until humans started getting sick. This "voluntary recall" wasnt voluntary -- they're doing this recall to save their own butts from being sued now that people are coming up ill and tracing it back. That is scary their quality tests are so.poor it wouldnt catch salmonella -- and im not convinced yet it isn't something else, too. They are clearly too big of a company, manufacturing too much food and unable to keep it safe--
