Do you ever get tired of....

I'm glad you can all relate....but I'm still frustrated.

I've had some progress with being more aggressive with my dogs using "touch" type techniques from Caesar (another thread).

It helps, but its not there yet. Big sigh!

Hmmm..only time gavin follows me around closely is when he thinks it's dinner time! I have a small place (700sq feet) so he's never that far away, though.
He usually knows where I am (I play hide and seek with him, it' soo much fun watching him go from room to room trying to find me. It's cute watching the little gears in his head go "she's here somewhere, the front door never opened").

He does follow me to the bathroom and shower :D

other than that, he's pretty laid back. probably because my place is so small.

sometimes I wish gavin was more needy when I hear stories about all the snugglebugs on the forum....then I decide things are perfect as they are

For us, it depends on the weather. We had that long spell of rain, and DS and DH were ready to make Sheltie Pie. Plus DS was trying to can jam, and with five Shelties underfoot and her with a cast on her leg trying to maneuver a kneel-scooter around, it was sheer insanity.

OK...so at the risk of letting everyone know how old...not cool...or just dumb I am....What is DH? DS?, can jam and a kneel-scooter???? I did understand the wanting to make sheltie pie part!

Liam is like that with me, particularly since the house was so upset since August with packing, me being at the new house in the evenings and weekends working, and then moving. He loves to get up on my knee or behind my back in my desk chair. Some days, I don't want that. Emma is content to go lay down somewhere, except at night, when she crowds me in bed.

Tape sounds like a good idea, Michele. Liam would probably peel it off and eat it though - he thinks EVERYTHING is food.

LOL Dawn!

DH = dear husband
DS = dear sister (though I think in other cases it can mean son, or spouse)

can jam = I think she literally means can jam, like grape or blackberry for toast.

and I think by kneel scooter she maybe meant knee scooter? Just google it and you'll see some pictures.

Absolutely! Bailey follows me every where and always looks at me to entertain her. If I don't she will find something to bark at. It also doesn't help that she's never tired and I'm her only caretaker.

Some days I get home from a rough day at work and just want to relax a little bit, but Bailey doesn't let me. I've just sort of come to realization that relaxing with Bailey will just never happen. The thing that helps me is I think about how one day she's gonna old and won't be able to move as well or see or hear and I'll be wishing that she was young again. So I try to enjoy her craziness as best as I can.

Sca is pretty good about laying down when I run him off. Now if I get up he does have to follow :biggrin2:

As to the tape Mom and Dad had a Mutant Cocker Spaniel that came into the parts store everyday. To keep her out of the front room there was a 2" tall box. If the box was there Suzie stayed behind the counter, remove it and she knew she could cruise the front room also. The only time she ever went around was when a Domino's driver came in for parts. After a bit of not seeing the pizza she HAD to go check.
