Dog for Sale (not really) - Counter Surfer, Food Thief, Eats Everything

Okay. I gave in and bought my first line of defense. A baby gate that I can walk through without worrying I'm going to kill myself on. After trying to install the darn thing, I had to rig it up with a pill bottle. LOL. But hey, it works. It auto closes which is kind of nice and I can still access my pots/pans/silverware. The only downside is I hope I don't forget Miko in there when I feed him. Oh hey! That means Koji doesn't need to be tied up when Miko eats. Yay!

So, here's Koji wondering why he can't go in the kitchen anymore. I feel better. I have a feeling he won't jump it. And with no vertical bars, he can't climb it either.

very nice- hope it works for you:yes:

Looks great! I hope it works out! My gate works great for keeping Missy out of the bathroom where the litterboxes. It also gives the cats a place to hide out when they've had enough of her shenanigans.

I agree--it looks good! I hadn't seen one of these "in person" yet. I just have plastic baby gates all over the house--it makes for hideous decor!

So far so good. Yay! He did pull down a bag with empty clean dishes it in off a higher counter. I'm pretty impressed he got that down.

I feel so much more relaxed knowing he can't get in the kitchen.

Granted, he also got to a piece of tupperware with cake bits in it. But that's my fault, I left it on my computer desk which is a lot lower than any counter. And has a chair for easier access. :rolleyes2:

Oh, and the gate actually looks pretty nice. I'm liking it. Lately I've left it open, but Koji would have to pull it open to get in. I don't think he's figured it out yet. Gets old having to open it every time I go in and out. LOL. And that's why I knew I needed a walk through gate.

One big downside? Trying to carry my dinner out of the kitchen and open the gate. LOL. I just have to keep the high counter cleared off. I can grab things from there w/o going into the kitchen. Too funny.

Just ordered one for the guys. They are not bad in the kitchen but Sca the sheet eater is banned from the bedroom when I am not there. At night it is the opposite and they are limited to the bedroom, computer room and bathroom (the extra bedroom is ALWAYS off limits, if they ate my expensive race gloves or other motorcycle leather it would be war)

Oh yeah. Koji loves leather. Yummy. Not sure what I'd do if he chewed up my leather jacket. I don't have expensive racing gloves, so that's okay.

Did you get a walk through kind too?

I have 2 gates very similar to the photo and I love them. Both are walk-through type gates and they give me the ability to confine them to a certain area or keep them out of an area of the house. My Shelties may have tried to jump one of them but were unsuccessful .... Since they were in the area where I left them.
This gate is a must for me. I hope you have the good luck that I have had with the gates.

Yep I was using a sliding gate and saw this thread and decided I needed a door at 5AM when Spitfire insists he needs out.

I have a couple of pair of the last version of these http://www.motorcyclegear.com/street/gloves/street_or_racing_gauntlet/held/phantom_ii_gloves.html
Plus 3 other sets from other companies (yes I am bad on gloves), plus 3 pair of boots and various armor that would be tasty not to mention an expensive helmet... needless to say the banishment from that room will not end soon

OMG. I don't think I've ever seen gloves go for that much. Granted, I'm not into racing, but wow! Yes. Off to the pound of those got eaten.

The walk through was important for me because I'm a klutz. LOL. I'd hurt myself more trying to climb over (in the middle of the day or night). you should have seen me eat it when I tried to get over the x-pen one day. Not pretty. :dead:

Hope all works out well. Including those midnight potty breaks. ;)
