Dog Names....

Ding - Ding - Ding!!! By George, I think she's got it. Smile at us, feed us. Name a dog after our favorite stuff!!! This ain't rocket science, ladies. We're pretty easy. Just don't tell the rest of the guys I let you in on the secret.

OMG.....David is also a train hobbist. Ding, ding, ding! Are you suggesting I name my after a train?

My husband and I can brainstorm train names for you! We have friends with Switch and Cinder, for example. Just name him SHAY! I would love a whole fleet of shelties (boys and girls) named after my boy! Just kidding.

My first was Quasar when we were in an "astronomy" phase. Thankfully we did NOT get any dogs during our drummer or r/c jet phase (thinking Styx -- play on word sticks as well -- or Phantom -- seriously, I just asked him!).

Seriously, he loved most the ones named for his interests!

We all can't wait to hear what you decide! Is there a prize involved?

Jeff's right. When I had my giant Aussie Mayson ("one dog is enough" hubby said) and it was 6 weeks after our Quasar left us, I told the hubby THIS is Shay, named after our first locomotive (train enthusiasts). He loved that it was a name after HIS trains and home the little puppy came.

Haha my friend Rachel let her husband name Birchs' dad Grizz.(He loves bears)He was not totally on board with the addition of a new dog. It did the trick.

The next year she brought home another dog Who is this? This is Vogue my new dog. He doesn't even ask anymore.

I've never seen a dog named TARDIS. Although there might be a reason for that...

Don't let Rose ruin your chance to re-read a series of books you love. I may start Harry Potter again soon. Listen to books while I do some data entry. But I have to get through Little Women soon. I know- SO far away from Sci-fi, but what can I say, I'm a nerd.

My purse is called "The Tardis' - stuff just disappears in there! The way some shelties are food motivated it might fit:yes:

We actually had a Belgian named TARDIS. Son was a DR. WHO fan and the dog's registered name was Ganymede Forever In Time. Dog wasn't the brightest of the lot and so he got variations of his name however, he loved to play hide and seek with the kids. They would leave him on the porch, go hide and then call his name. He would locate a kid and learned to poke them and then run back to the porch. It was fun to watch the kids try to outrun him.

One of our "on file" names is "Nattering Srings The Trainmaster." Call name: Eddie, after my father and DH's grandfather, both railroad men.
