Yes I've also heard males tend to give in to females alot. Tho' that doesn't necessarily mean they rank higher I'm guessing? Males have a supposedly linear fixed hierarchy whereas girls tend to fluctuate more or something like that. All very interesting. Wish I got paid observing dogs.
Yes, I think we saw the same seminar.
The male hierachy is fixed once established. In a dog pack, the top ranking dog will be male and the lowest ranking dog also male. The femal hierachy is more fluid. It has order but can fuctuates daily especially amoung the middle ranking females and they can move up and down within their relationship to the males so that some days the females are higher ranking. Most interesting and I wish I could observe dogs for a living too.
