Stacey, I can feel you love for Duffy in your words. While your family certainly rescued Duffy, he also returned the favor by giving a young girl a ton of unconditional love and comfort. You both are blessed to have found one another.

A very moving story about Duffy. What a great guy he was to have survived as he did and then to live a long and happy life with you. Don't feel funny about being sad on the anniversary. My first Sheltie's death date is always very hard on me and it's been over 7 years now. The trick is to get by that date and really try to focus on the good times.

I hope you are remembering the good stuff now that you are past the date.
