Earnhardt's diagnosis is cancer

Dear St. Francis,

Today, a great friend left us to join you at Rainbow Bridge. Earnhardt the faithful, loving Lab, left behind his grieving Mom Michele and Dad Brian, as well as his sister Mia and brothers Jasper, Trapp and Blake. Though they know that Ernie is now young and vibrant once more, their hearts ache to be without this gallant fellow. Bring them comfort. Let them feel the love of the Good Shepherd and smile through their tears as many happy memories rise above the pain. Help them know that to Ernie, it will seem but the twinkling of an eye until he greets his beloved family once more. Until then, help Ernie will watch over his family.
In His name we ask,
Amen
Although I am not religious, Chris has the most wonderful prayers, very thoughtful and gracious.

This is such sad news. I am thinking of you, Michelle, and Brian too.
May the memories of this happy boy give you comfort. Know in your hearts he had a wonderful life, never had a moments worry, as it was all good.
Safe in your loving home. What a beautiful life.

Thank you Connie~
Thats means the world to us. Earnhardt was so so special. It was our first time ever bringing a litter into the world.Just the wonder & amount of learning we did back then. I know I could have crashed google for all the info I was finding on how to whelp a litter.

To have him all this time, and we have looked back on these last few weeks, with Blake coming home. I do think there is reason for everything. I never planned on another pup.I told Brian I would wait until Earnhardt passed away. We were told at his last checkup,we would have a good two years of decent mobilty with him. The vet did not think with his hips,he would make it more than that.

Then to find the masses this past week,of course he was back in there, getting those looked at & biopsy's done on them. I never thought that day I would be dealt the diagnosis it was cancer. I actually had Blake there for upset belly. I was devastated,as was Brian. Dr.Mac said, possibly 6 months.
I think Earnhardt took his time welcoming Blake home, took time with him,and got to know him.Even taking naps together. Then he collapsed on Saturday. I know I will never, ever forget the fear in his eyes.

He was the best big brother to all of the shelties, every dog that entered his space was welcomed. I know,I will always have fond memories of gatherings when Sca & him would grumble over the water bowls..And to Rob (Sca & Spitfires sheep) Earnhardt loved your gentle pats.

But he sure was a special dog. I know there will never be another Earnhardt, not just in his manners, but just his shear amount of love he had for us.Not to mention his protection, cause he sure made a statement to anyone that entered our home.
Thank you again.

I'm so very sorry that Earnhart has left so suddenly. I can imagine how hard that was for you, I've had it happen that way too.

I wish I could have met dear Ernie but I loved all the stories about him and his watchfulness over his Sheltie clan and his human family. Rest in peace Earnhart, you were well loved and will be remembered forever.
