EAST COAST shelties & humans remain safe.

We just had rain and wind all day Saturday, 5:30 am now and windy but no rain. We got lucky with this huge storm. Sending prayers to all my friends here.

We're getting ready here too. It's supposed to start tonight and go until Tuesday. High wind, lots of rain and extended power outages predicted. :hide

Today I'll be stockpiling water and getting things ready. Hoping the generator will keep the basement sump pumps going! Thanks for the good wishes, everyone.

8:18 am and its still dark and dank outside, I took Beau out for his morning walk all he wanted to do was pee and his regular business, he did not want to walk. I might try later on. Poor boy, he does not like storms. As long as we don't loose power dog boy and I will okay. Lots of cuddling

Stay safe everyone. We are expecting wind and rain from it in Southern Ontario starting Monday into Tuesday.

We are hoping everyone up north is safe from Sandy. Those kinds of storms are something we are used to but they are never easy to prepare for or go through. Fingers are crossed here in Louisiana for it to pass quickly with minimal damage. My shelties say be sure to have lots of treats for people & shelties!

They were reporting this on our news this morning and I thought of all my SN friends and wondered who would be affected by this. Stay safe everyone.

East Coast Shelties

Stormy Weather

Thinking of everyone here in the East as Sandy passes on through. We are 15 minutes from Delmarva which is set to get hit smack in the face tomorrow morning.

Wind started about a couple of hours ago. Sprinkling rain now. I dread the loss of power we do have a generator and a contingency plan should it come to that. Governor Christie said that it will come to that.

Pre storm jitters. Steven is on the road doing a transport for a puppy due in Massachusetts later today. What timing right? I stayed behind with the dogs, Harper is a little uptight herself.

Last storm in June you will remember we came home to a tree on our house. Oh boy!

Hugs to all, and thank you wonderful Canadians for all your good wishes,

Kate

I'm a few blocks from the Hudson, so not great for me lol. I'm in an apartment building and are a few floors up, so my place won't flood. My job already stated they will be closed tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to being stuck in an apartment for two days with a high energy sheltie and with the chance of losing power. Also, not sure what to do if Bailey has to go out during the storm. Is it cruel to remove her water bowl to restrict her water intake? I can try to take her to the building basement, but it might be flooded.

I bought freeze-dried food for her yestersay, because she eats commercial raw and i'm worriex it will spoil if there is a prolonged power outage.

Hope everyone is safe and the storm isnt as bad as they predict!

Yes...more prayers sent from Louisiana. Every one of these storms is different, but this one sounds really bad even by the standards of the ones we have seen here in south Louisiana.

Be prepared for awful night time hours; those are the absolute worst! Sunny hated the sound of the strong wind and limbs cracking

Keep safe everyone. Will be thinking about you.
