Ellie's Third Rally Class--SHE WAS PERFECT!

Ellie has never been a consistent dog, but this totally blew me away. She acted like I would expect a "normal" dog to act. Curious, alert, normal small stressed to be in a different enviornment and working, but attentive to me and what I was asking. I felt like I was in a dream!

DH thinks is was because he wasn't there. He feels he is a distraction and a worry for Ellie. Ellie has always treated us differently. She loves DH, but she is my dog, you know what I mean? She is devoted to me. My husband ADORES Ellie, is kind, sweet, gentle and affectionate to her. He plays with her every single day, takes her for rides, etc., but she just prefers me. I honestly don't know if that is what made a diffeernce of not or if she is just getting braver and more confident or what. Whatever it is, I hope it continues.

Since the fences have been down on both sides (it will probably be about 2 more weeks!) she hasn't had the opportunity to jump on and attack the fence between her and the stupid neighbor dog. I am hoping she will get out of the habit (it HAS become a habit). Our neighbor is going to be putting up the same kind of fence we ahve, which is a tight slatted wood fence. The dogs should not be able to see each other any longer. I know they will still be able to smell and hear the other, but I am hoping it will be better. This will lessen the stress she has on a daily basis.

Isn't it amazing how one day we can be SOOOO frustrated with them and the next day them seem like a PERFECT dog!!!!! Glad to hear she's doing better:winkgrin:

Wow, a real breakthrough for Ellie! I am so pleased and happy for both of you - you really have struggled together. Hoping this is just the beginning of a great Rally career!
