Just got home from our trial. It was an hour north of us in St Cloud MN. Justice and Ember's breeder as well as Diva's breeder live in the area so we had to go visiting. All the dogs came along.
Our trial was outdoors. We couldn't have gotten better weather. Sat was cloudy but 74 with a slight breeze and today was clear but not too hot until late afternoon. We had to get there early for Ember's measuring. I hauled Diva with me for a temp mearsuement too. I was hoping for under 14 for both girls. I was not too sure about Diva. Funny thing both girls measured exactly the same! 13 1/8ins. Not sure how the heck that happened. Only thing I can think is Ember stands naturally square and Diva's was standing like a rocking horse. Good foot placement on the drop stack on my part.
I got Ember's 2nd measurement from the rep so she is set for the 12" class.
I couldn't have asked more from Ember. She ended up Qing in all 4 of her runs with 4 clean runs, 3 1st and 1 2nd. She now has 2 NA and 2 NAJ legs and needs 1 more of each for her titles. She listened so well and didn't step a foot in the wrong direction. A couple of times she started slow and then picked up speed towards the end. Her contacts could have been faster but in our first run the teeter almost bucked her off and that got in her head for Sun. Not bad for her first ever agility trial.
In other news, Ember's sister Dutchie picked up a Double Q for her MACH and 25(I think) pts. Ember's dad Duke got a couple prefered legs Open Std and Excellent jumpers. Finally, Diva's half brother(same dad and Justice's half sister Sunday is his mom) Eamon got his 1st NAJ leg in his first ever trial too.
I have video of 3 of Ember's runs. Unfortunately the first Std run had techinal difficulties and didn't get recorded. I'll edit them and get them post sometime tomorrow.
