Started reading my new book by Linda Mecklenburg "Developing handling skills for awesome agility teams". It is new book, just recently published.
For one it is a large book, with LOTS of pictures and diagrams, all 300 pages.
For second, Linda really gives very good description, what why and how and explicit directions.
Really am enjoying reading. Yesterday in the class my trainer kept telling me "good dog" when Che was running other obstacles but not the ones I was thinking I directed him to... it is finally dawning on me my dog is following my motion cues 100% of the time and my trained cues are about half of that because they contradict my motion cues... some things are finally making sense...
Since I always learn well from mishmash of info, my new DVD "Great dog, Shame about Handler" and "Great dog Great Handler" by Greg Derrett are great to watch. Both DVD somewhat repeat each other, both are well done and give you enough logic why would you want this or that on the field. Finding I am unable yet to absorb that info easily enough though since they are directed at people who know basics.
Also got interlibrary loan Susan Garett "Shaping success". For those of you who have highly energetic, reactive, easily aroused pups it is a must read! I recognize lots of problems I run into with Che.
I think it would be nice if we have a section on "learning", for those of us who learn a lot from books, DVD, seminars to post review so others can ask questions before buying the product/ committing to seminar...

An agility sub-board perhaps?
). He gives you great drills to practice FC, RC etc and explains exactly why he would do a FC at a certain place vs another etc. I think it is good no matter what system you teach. I did not teach my dogs the RC the way he says in the first DVD, nor do my dogs know left and right, and still I can do what he shows in this second DVD. It was worth the money I spent. It also comes with a little book with all the grids for you.
